The men are known as the Household Cavalry and have two regiments called the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals. The building used to be the main entrance to the Palace of Whitehall and is still used as governmental offices so it is ceremonially guarded. There are stables here as well.
Here on duty is a soldier of the Blue and Royals.
