Windsor Castle 14

And finally you come up to the rear entrance of the State Apartments. The official entrance on the other side has a large square with a big lawn but tourists don't get to go that way. Google it to see more.

Once again there were no pictures allowed inside the State Apartments. It's a fairly long tour inside, you start by going through a display of Queen Mary's Doll House. It's pretty amazing how detailed the thing is, with working lights and plumbing. From there you do a lengthy walk through dozens of state rooms, most of them designed by Jeffry Wyatville in the early 19th century. Wyatville intended each room to illustrate a particular architectural style and to display the matching furnishings and fine arts of the period, covering Classical, Gothic, Jacobethan and Rococo styles. In other words its a lot of rooms with a lot of fancy stuff. The art work in particular was impressive.
