Bath 6

Thought you'd get through a stop without seeing a church? Wrong! Here's Bath Abbey. Like many other places the Abbey started out a much different building. It was created as a convent in in 675.  Various events happened, it turned into a monastery, changed hands, partially burned. The usual. It was renovated in 1161 under Bishop Godfrey of Bath to become what it is now.

The angels climbing the ladders to heaven on either side of the entrance are a whimsical touch.
