Found Marbles

Our hotel was also right across from the Marble Arch. Built in 1833 it used to be the entrance to Buckingham Palace. It turned out to be too small for some of the royal coaches to fit through so in 1847 it was dismantled and rebuilt as a ceremonial entrance to the northeast corner of Hyde Park. The reconstruction was completed in March 1851.
