In anticipation of an upcoming trip, I got these images Mari scanned. Many years ago when this was all still highly classified Dad took me to see my favorite airplane, the SR-71 in action. A very rare treat at the time. It started with watching the pilots get suited up in the special space grade suits they had to wear. Then this plan had to take off, a fueling tanker. The SR-71 was designed to leak fuel until the heat sealed the fuselage together, so it only had enough to take off and then had to be refueled.
