The museum is laid out in basically chronological order, though occasionally a plane from another era was randomly in some displays for reasons unknown. They had a display about the Wright Brothers but this is the Air Force Museum so it focused on military aircraft. That meant no Kitty Hawk or other early concept planes. Instead they start with the 1909 Wright Flyer, the first official American military aircraft. Other early military planes can be seen overhead.
