Long Sword

Here we got a twofer. In the middle is the dragon slayer sword, an art piece by local man John Hayes. He took a fallen Douglas fur and carved it end to end with viking pictograms to make this 76 foot sword.

Behind it is a small chapel called Greyfriars Abbey that was built in 1241. It is notable because when Henry VIII came through and was tearing down all the friaries they struck a deal with him. They could stay open as long as they converted part of the abbey into a poor house and prayed for his soul every day.
