Guinness Guardians

Next we cruised passed the massive Guinness brewery, but didn't stop to take the tour. What we did hear about was how the Guinness family's love of Ireland and altruism was everywhere in the country and especially Dublin. They build houses for the poor, hospitals, hostels for the homeless, bath houses, and built or rebuilt many national treasures (remember St. Patrick's Cathedral.) They also made a point to hire and help rehabilitate returning soldiers. They are much loved in Ireland and for good reason. Also Guinness really is better over there. Irish pubs can only keep a keg of Guinness tapped for a certain amount of time before they have to replace it, have to pour it a certain way including giving it a minute to rest before finishing the pull, and it has slightly higher alcohol content.
