The first stop was the Old State House. Built in 1713 it's one of the oldest public buildings in the US. Right outside this building was where the Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770. Six years later on July 18, 1776 Colonel Thomas Crafts read the Declaration of Independence to Boston crowds from that very balcony.
