Fuzzy Art

I'm not sure when this accidental picture got taken. I discovered it on my phone while I was cleaning up pictures to put on the blog. I'm fairly certain this is an extreme closeup of the scarf I was wearing. But it was weird, and unexpected and kind of neat so I'm posting it. It's my blog, I can do that kind of stuff.

Sounds Supportive

I bought one of their vinyls, even though I don't have a record player. A vinyl is just cooler than a CD. We wanted to support the band since they were so good and we enjoyed the show so much. I'm not sure I'm a bluegrass convert, but I'd go again.

Every Note

It was also cool that every member got at least one "highlight moment" where the song really focused on their instrument, even the bassist who was really great.

Mountain Music

Then the Appalachian Road Show Band took the stage and man could they play and sing. There's something happy and infectious about bluegrass, they were absolutely great.

The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway

My favorite of the art on display. Maybe because it was a balmy 15 degrees today.

Coleman Collection

While we were waiting for the show to start, the art on display for this period was from former Disney artist James Coleman.

Dinsney and Grass

Dad got us tickets to a bluegrass show at Monthaven. Not really in our wheelhouse but we're trying to do more things.

Classy Two

Day two of teaching the class. They have to split it into two sessions since the entire office can't all be training at the same time. Half one day, half the next.

Nashville Pine

One nice thing about going downtown for the class at this time of year was getting to see the Nashville Christmas tree in person.

Classy One

Here's the room where we're doing the training. Not bad, how come JIS never gets cool digs like these?

A Blast From The Past

Back in 2020 a crazy person drove his RV downtown and blew it up on Christmas Day. I'm on 2nd avenue headed to the Public Defender to help teach a class on cybersecurity and they're still working on the buildings next to where the blast was five years later.

Tugging At Heartstrings

My yearly visit to the cardiologist for my wonky heart. All is well, though according to this chart I am not playing nearly enough tug of war.

Up Lighting

We had extra lights left over since we had a company do some of ours this year, so I went up and gave Dad's house a little Christmas cheer.

Elves Aren't The Only Ones Who Can Build Christmas Toys

Of course I had to put it together right away too. Glorious gaming goodness awaits in ultimate comfort.

Santa Dropped By Early

My old computer chair is falling apart so Mari got me a shiny new, top of the line one! It was kind of hard to hide the giant box being delivered so she let me open it early.

Stacks Of Fun

As always, a week with Mackenzie means there will be games. This is about as high as we've ever gotten the Tetris game.

Lights Up

The house is all lit up, should be easy for Santa to find our spot.

Thankful For 27 Years

Having your anniversary be so close to, or on Thanksgiving every years means it gets lost in the holiday shuffle sometimes. But that doesn't mean I'm not grateful for 27 years spent with the best wife ever. The traditional gift for 27 years is pomegranate. So I got her some pomegranates of course. I know, big spender. Here's to 27 more!

The Family Of Thanks

We've got a pretty good crew here. Thankful for a good family.

The Table Of Thanks

Mari and Mackenzie set the table for this year's feast. Complete with the headbands made earlier.

The Big Man

As always, closing things out.

Big White Fox Thing

Not sure what this thing is, I missed the explanation. But it was my favorite new float this year.

Turkey Train

Another year, another Marcy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. A classic tradition.

OMG

Taking it a little easy today from all the fun and decorating as Mackenzie was having some coughing issues. Gigi came by and they got to spend some quality time together.

Horse Play

Mackenzie showing us the super fancy horse Gramma got her, with all the accessories and such. In between sessions of Christmas decorating of course. The horse is named Blue. Random fact.

Perfect Plug

We got the silver tree put up and thanks to Allen, for the first time didn't have to run an extension cord into the guest bathroom!

Back Lit

I got the back deck decorated, anticipating the front lights going up soon.

Two More Turkeys

And of course gramma had to have one as well. I did too, but managed to escape photo detection. For now.

Two Turkeys

Today's activity was to make thanksgiving turkey headbands. Dad and Mackenzie.

Miniature Librarian

We're back home with Mackenzie for the week. In a secret effort to drive me crazy Casie and John got us this little library with tons of little books a few years ago, but it was impossible to get them all organized and on the shelves so my OCD couldn't handle;e it. Or so I thought. Mackenzie managed to get them all put away - mostly. She had to stuff a lot of them up top, but she did it! Never to be shaken again.

Picture This

Today was all about looking at Payton's senior pictures as he prepares to graduate high school and move on to college. Hard to believe so much time has passed. The pictures were great but it took quite a while. After that we had lunch and met Megan's mom, then it was time to drive home. Luckily the trip home was much better and only took the normal four-ish hours.

A Peach Of A Family

We have a good crew here.

It Flies In The Family

The official jet of the Greer (Ireland) clan, the SR-71. Lonnie made this out of a Lego kit and I was very proud to see him carrying on the tradition.

Dacula Dogs

We got to meet our extended canine family, french bulldogs Coco and ?

Dacula Digs

We finally made it to Lonnie's house after a terrible drive, it took us nearly seven hours with all the reroutes and traffic. But that's behind us now, we're here!

Halfway House

We're on our way to Atlanta (Dacula specifically) for Payton's graduation pictures and to bring back Mackenzie for the week. On the Georgia border they have a very nice rest stop / visitor center. It has this display for a science museum. I mean what more do you need than dinosaurs and space ships?

Delight

One of those things pictures just can't seem to capture, but tonight's sunset turning the wispy clouds a vibrant orange was pretty amazing.

Honey Of A Game

The Beekeeper's Picnic is a short, sweet little indy throwback game. It's an old school point and click adventure featuring a retired Sherlock Holmes living on the coast wanting to throw a picnic for his dear friend Watson. Fun, engaging, great voice acting, could have been a little longer but I can't fault what it was going for.

Let There Be Lights

For the 27 years we have lived in this house we've wanted an electrical outlet in the upstairs nook so we could plug in this display cabinet's light as well as our silver Christmas tree instead of running an annoying extension cord out of the guest bathroom. Well want no more! Our friend, neighbor, and HVAC / electrician guy Allen installed the plug today. Look at those reindeer shine!

The Envoy Of OKness

Finished Avowed, a first person RPG. It was fine. The story was ok, the voice acting was very good, the game play was fine. It just kinda, was. No regrets playing it but I didn't find it particularly memorable.

Raindrops on a spiderweb. Just liked the image.

Bird Back

For some reason we haven't seen a woodpecker of any sort for quite a long time. We got a new suet feeder and finally, my favorite little buddy is back.

Bright Beaver

Tonight was the Beaver Moon, one of the so called "supermoon" events when the moon is at it's closest to Earth so it seems bigger and brighter than usual. Despite how far they've come, camera phones do not do a good job of taking moon shots BTW.

High Profile Lunch

The yearly dress up fancy for a free lunch committee meeting. Always fun. Interesting doings this year.

Jenni and Megan are heading back home today, and we actually remembered to grab some family photo ops! Jenni, Megan and Dad.
