No work and a computer that I don't have to fix.

A Brief Skyatus
It's been a long week. Not necessarily a bad one, just intense. Many hours at work for both me and Mari, not much that inspired me photogenically, and not a lot of energy to spare looking. Time for a relaxing weekend.

Monkey Madness
As mentioned here, the special edition of Monkey Island 2 is out now. That's probably the last monkey reference I'll post in a while.

SAN Plan Cisco
Still really enjoying the SAN project at work. We're past the install and now planning how to use it in the most organized way.

Thermostatic
Stuck at off until the Lee guy fixed it. Good news, just out of freon and a $100 service / recharge fee later we're back in cooling off land. Bad news it means at the minimum the coil has a leak and needs replaced, and since it's an eleven year old unit most likely we'll need to just replace the whole thing. At least we can plan for it instead of getting bum rushed into it.

The Money Pit
Is this that whole things come in threes deal? First the water heater gets wiped out, then the vent fan in the attic goes, and now the downstairs AC is out. I much preferred it when this was happen to Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. Lee Company, who now owns our soul, will be out tomorrow.

Bird Brain
Revisiting this post, Wired magazine just featured a photo of the cockpit of a SR-71 Blackbird. Awesome.

Magically Average
Went and saw Sorcerer's Apprentice with Mari today. Wish we had seen something else. Not that it was horrible, it was solid popcorn entertainment, but more a rental than a theater treat. Especially with things like Despicable Me and Inception out there. Oh well, at least we put a little money in Disney's coffers and there's always next weekend.

Back To DC
My folks are homeward bound after a good visit with much birthday celebrating, the contents of their never-ending attic in tow.

A Flan Of La Ha
Carlos and the good people at La Hacienda surprised me with a flan and a free meal. I only wish I had thought to take a picture of it before I started eating it. There was also a sombrero and singing involved but we won't mention that.

Stuffed With Stuff
My parent's attic has now been dubbed the Clown Attic. Because stuff just keeps coming out, and out, and out. I think that's the original Nordic Track.

Birthday Mom
Happy birthday Mom! We spent the afternoon of my Mom's birthday cleaning out the attic of their Tennessee house, which they rent as they now live in Maryland. Included in the finds was a scrapbook my Mom kept when she was a kid. And this priceless ad she clipped for the amazing new Princess phone. Better yet, as she was one of the first in her area to get one, Pacific Telephone ran a little article/ad in the local paper. That's her with the guy who installed it. Got her name wrong though. Shoddy journalism.

Goody And The Gargoyle
My parents and their pup are in town. Here Goody hides in her favorite spot, protected from our rowdy dogs.

Eau De Dog
My first ever video post. Maddie loves it when we put linen spray on the comforter. Complete with snuffles and snorts of joy.

Mo' Monkey
After something like 10 years they've finally made another Monkey Island game. Which as I have mentioned is one of my all time favorite series. Also announced, they are redoing Monkey Island 2 in the same way they recently did Monkey Island 1.

Lots Of Blinking Lights Are Cool
The two week SAN install is complete and I'm quite pleased. It was one of the most complicated things I've ever had to do in my career and I learned tons about a technology that is now, or will be key to most business. Here's the end result with all the pretty lights flashing and bezels in place.
