Florence has been known for it's leather since before the Renaissance, so the tour concluded with a class from a local leather maker called Peruzzi. They went through the processes they still use today developed from ancient Florence, then showed a little leather work. It wasn't completely altruistic of course, they had a big store with some amazing leather goods to shop at after, but the information and watching the craftsman at work was interesting.
