Caught Red Pawed

It's hard to see in the picture but a squirrel ran by with a big chunk of what I thought was bread in its mouth. Then I saw this trail of crumbs running back to my fence and realized the little bugger had just stolen the suet brick from the bird feeder and was making a break for it.

Why be outside when you can see it but keep your butt air conditioned.

Almost Seeds Close Up

I was playing with my phone's zoom function to try some super close ups. I'd been holding my phone close to stuff and have since read you're better off using the zoom instead. Anyway, I just liked the picture of our Magnolia's seed pod.

Glasses Half Empty

Mari is basically OK, though her face took a beating and she had to have five stitches in her eyebrow. We think her glasses saved things from being worse as they took the brunt of the impact. Nothing broken, no concussion so that's wonderful. She's not allowed to get the mail after dark anymore though.

Dark Mailbox Trauma

Mari went out to get the mail tonight and in the dark missed a step and fell face first onto the driveway. So we're at the emergency room making sure there's nothing seriously damaged.

Little Things

Water and flavoring, pill meat, peanut butter, pills and two yogurt treats. Little rituals that are often underappreciated but special.
