Scoping Out The Middle

What can I say about Sniper Elite 5 that I haven't already said about the previous incarnations?

Didn't play the first one.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five is more of the same, which is to say this is a series I know isn't going to blow me away so I wait for it to go on sale, but I still enjoy it enough to know I'm going to get some solid entertainment out of it.

Oh Deer Its Hot

After three days of 100 degree high humidity weather we're all very over this stretch of weather, including the deer. Here's a little family staying as cool as they can.

Snuffle Up I Guess

Mad with her snuffle mat. I took this to send to Mari as she's back in Arizona with Casie for a few days taking care of some estate stuff related to her Mom. I was just going to delete it but I thought, why not use a perfectly cute picture of our old pup, you can never have enough of those. So, there you go.

Natural Wonder

We've had this species before I believe, but I never get tired of seeing the various, beautiful butterflies that our little garden attracts. (Credit this picture to Mari.)

Hot Pepper Tuna

Dave the Diver is an indy game that's really blown up recently. It feels like they threw everything at the wall and made it stick, so it's hard to explain the game play. The basic premise is you dive for fish to be made into sushi at your restaurant. But there are a ton of crazy side activities and mini games that are totally unrelated yet somehow it all works. Really fun and I'm looking forward to seeing how they expand it out.

WOTM

The ol' WOTM finally gets it's time. I usually post it on the first day of the month, but this month has been quite busy so far!

War Changer

Speaking of getting big names to attend, the keynote was delivered by world famous, Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Nick Ut who told us the story of the day he took his famous "The Terror of War" photo featuring the "Napalm Girl." Probably the defining image of the Vietnam War. It could be argued that his photos had a big part in ending it.

This evening went much better than the last one, and was very enjoyable so we'll see how the next one goes!

One Song About Memphis

During dinner entertainment was provided by Pam Tillis. It always surprises me how this small organization manages to get fairly big names to attend these things.

Family Friends

The table was soon filled with family friends, like the Carters.

Family Circle

Dad sponsored a table in the name of the Sue Greer Fabric Circle.

MACC Mansion

We got there a little early because we knew parking can be problematic at these bigger events. Plus I kept this picture in because it shows the Antebellum house the MACC uses in the background (and it named after.)

Bourbon and BBQ

We're headed out this evening to attend our second Veterans event for the MACC. I admit to being a little less enthusiastic about going, not having had the best experience at the first one.

New Office Tour VI

Finally, there's one room that is bigger than the old office and that's our training / meeting room. I didn't get a good picture to show the size, but there are five rows of tables. They are also on wheels and can fold up and stack so there's a lot of choices in space and setup. In the corner over there is the lone window. There are a few more nooks and crannies around the place, as well as a dedicated office for Nathalie with a small meeting area, but I didn't want to take a picture of that. All in all I like the space and think we will be happy here, but time will tell how functional it is with real use.

New Office Tour V

Our conference room is about the same size and features the only reused item, the conference room table.

New Office Tour IV

Not quite the huge break room we shared with the Public Defender, but it's all new and modern and the chairs are more comfortable.

New Office Tour III

The point of the smaller office is that we're fully embracing the work from home method, so there's no assigned cubes anymore expect for the two help desk folks (Christian pictured here being one of them.) Instead we have four "drop in, drop out" desks with docking stations so anyone can come in, plug up, and eventuality have dual monitors, a keyboard and a mouse at the ready (they are expected to arrive next week to be installed on the mounts.) All the desks, including the ones in the help desk cubes are adjustable height up to standing.

New Office Tour II

We have about half the storage area we used to, but we made it work.

New Office Tour

Once you get out of the hall though, the space is nice. Everything is new and sleek, with pops of color to brighten up an otherwise enclosed space. We'll never be able to recreate the amazing views from Parkway Tower's windows, and this place only has one window that looks into a concrete courtyard, but they did their best to make it inviting.

Another Kind Of Hall

The hallway to our new office is a little mental facilityish. Are they trying to tell us something?

The Historic Hall Of Justice

My first day at the old job here on the 8th floor of the Historic Court House and City Hall.

Sunset On Another Visit

Mackenzie needed to be home before Friday so she could go to her new school's open house and meet her teachers. So we met Lonnie halfway in Chattanooga and had dinner. On the way back there was an amazing sunset over Nickajack Lake. Photos can never seem to quite capture things like this, but we try.

Hot Animals

Today's adventure was Mari taking Kenzie to the zoo. It was pretty hot out so there animals were mostly sleeping in the shade, but supporting the local zoo is never a bad thing.

Bubble Break

A rare nice evening during an unusually hot summer, gramma and granddaughter blowing bubbles.
