Puzzling Behavior

One of the things Coronavirus World brought back to us was puzzles. It started as just a way to kill time while the Irelands were stranded here, but it reminded Mari and I how much we really enjoy puzzles. So we're still doing them. We just finished this one today.

Flower Power

It took a bit longer than expected but the butterfly garden is finally complete.

Restoration

As mentioned yesterday Ashley, Mackenzie, Payton, DiNozzo, and Koko headed home on Saturday after an extended stay. It does feel empty around here, but there's no denying after some spring cleaning it's nice to have things all back the way they should be.

China Wok Back Away

The Atlanta Irelands went home today after almost two months of staying at our house thanks to Coronavirus World. We did some house cleaning and then headed out to China Wok, our favorite Chinese take out place which had been closed for quite a while. We found they'd build a plexiglass wall on their counter and you now have to pay and get your food through trap doors. Strange times.

Nice To Be Nice To The Nice

Pictures typically can't capture things like this, and this one is no exception, but it was just a really nice, peaceful day to be out on a walk in the neighborhood.

Dungeons And Dragons

For the last several weeks I have been Dungeon Mastering an intrepid band of adventurers through their first (pen and paper) steps in the world of D&D. Matira the human fighter (Mari), Glitch the halfling rogue (Payton), and Pippi the dwarf cleric (Ashley). I'm no Matt Mercer but I think we're having a pretty good time of it!

It was an odd, socially distant Mother's Day but we still got four generations together.

Even in Coronavirus World, flowers are still pretty pretty.

Interloper Eatery

For Mother's Day our Atlanta refugees got Mari a little squirrel feeding bench. So far it's mostly served birds, but we'll get a furry friend on there soon enough I'm sure. Just long enough for Maddie to chase it off.

Wookie Relief

It turned out Mad had gotten hookworms, which can be pretty serious for puppies and older dogs. Such a relief amidst everything else to see her starting to be her old self again, here squeaking her favorite wookie toy.

Chicken From Heaven

There is very little to celebrate as a result of Coronavirus World, but if we can take one blessing away from it all: Hattie B's food truck came to our neighborhood this afternoon and brought the best hot chicken in Nashville to my doorstep.

And sometimes we trap Koko up here with us to keep her out of trouble. She doesn't seem to mind most of the time.

Multiplayer

Payton and I have been playing a lot of games together, having fun with Raft, Subnautica, Neverwinter Online, Stardew Valley, and even a little Borderlands.

Door Wall

I'm not sure if this is related to Coronavirus World or something that was already in the works, but I came to shop at Kroger today and all the open refrigeration sections now have doors. Maybe's it's just more energy efficient, or maybe it's to stop people from breathing on the food.
