Getting Messier

Messier 61 is a spiral galaxy in the Virgo Cluster. The blue glow is the combined light of millions of high-mass, luminous stars, much brighter and hotter than the Sun. The pinkish-red blobs dotting the arms are gigantic gas clouds (nebulae) from which stars are born. The stars warm the gas, causing it glow red.

In other words, as I've said before, space can be pretty.

Light Rail

The railing is now complete, we even made it fancy with a solar light at the end. Not sure why the picture distorted the rails but I assure you they are all straight.

Russian Around

We went to Anastasia tonight. The lead was very good and the set design was amazing, but overall kind of an average play.

Ramp Up

The finished product, though we will be adding a railing later. Puppy approved.

Down Stairs

Tara has been having issues with stairs at times, so like most normal people we built a ramp for the deck to make sure she can get up and down when we aren't around.

Still Crying

I finished Far Cry 5 tonight. Reading back through past comments on this series it seems to stay consistent. Really fun game play let down by thin to poor plotting. In this iteration you take on a fanatical cult in Montana. You get kidnapped through the story no less than nine times. Really, really lazy writing. But somehow it was still fun. I guess that's what keeps me coming back.

Mari won tickets to Rock of Ages from News Channel 5, so we picked them up today.

Mars is kind of old hat these days, but it still fascinated me that we're (remotely) crawling around another planet.

Mari and I went to see Captain Marvel today. Really good! Right up there with my favorite MCU movies.

Floral Find

I'd never seen this kind of flower before and thought it was pretty, so I took a picture. I know, so deep. (Note: Some searching leads me to believe it's a family of flowers called Brassica.)

Mad and Mys

I've noticed as they get older Mystic and Maddie seem to be getting more attached to each other.

Flying fish leap out of the water at 20 mph or more, and can glide for over 500 feet.
