Karmic Marching

The gout also meant I wasn't able to go to the march in Nashville over the treatment of immigrants and the separation of children, so I could only lend karmic support. I know Nashville is a blue dot in a red sea, but I'm proud of my town's political heart.

Gout Out

I got hit with a case of gout in my foot on Friday, only the second time I've ever had it. Not a fun or interesting post, but more a reminder if I get it again. So enjoy this neat picture of my foot!

Mad Going

She never even comes close to catching one, but it always gives her a little swagger that she protected the house.

MAM

Her favorite thing to do is to stalk her prey from the air conditioned comfort of the house, peering at them from a crack in the flap until she feels the time is right.

Interlopers

I know I've done the squirrel thing before but it's a family favorite pastime, and it's been a slow month so why not. Here we have three of them, though two are hard to see. Mad has learned the word "squirrel" and will run out back to hunt them when we use it, so if we don't want to trigger Mad Attack Mode we use the code word "interlopers" when referring to our birdseed bandits.

Made With Love

We came home today to find an amazing new "summer" quilt, and based on recent events gave our furry babies a bunch of extra love. Life's short, hug your dogs.

Elliot Greer

We very unexpectedly lost Elliot today, a family member come and gone much too soon. It's not how long you love, but how much that matters.

Capital Cup

If I was going to root for a team other than the Preds to win the cup this year, it was the Capitals. Mostly because of these two guys, Barry Trotz and Alex Ovechkin. Well they took it in 5 last night, so at least a happy ending to the season.

Inner Demons

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was in interesting attempt at showing what someone with psychosis goes through. The graphics were amazing, that screen shot above is not just a wallpaper, that's how good the main character Senua actually looked in-game. The story was very good too, delving into Norse and Celtic culture as well as Senua's struggle with a mental disorder in an age when such things were usually blamed on evil spirits and the like. My only problem was the game mechanics were very repetitive, you basically fought the same thing and solved the same kind of puzzles through the whole story. I also think they should have had an easy mode. Some of the fights were very hard and very long, which I feel would turn off people who just want to enjoy the story.

WOTM

Hey June.
