Past Quest

Day of the Tentacle is a remaster of an old adventure game that came out in 1993, during the (late) heyday of such games like the King's Quest and Monkey Island series. Like Grim Fandango I always meant to play it but never did, then they updated it and re-released it. It was a quick playthrough but nostalgic and fun.

First One

Mari and I saw Rogue One, the first of the expanded universe movies. Really, really good.

Mari and I watched Passengers this afternoon. It wasn't what I expected from the previews but we both thought it was pretty good, well worth going to see.

True Colors

One of the best parts was how vivid the lights and the colors were. Whatever kind they used were some of the best and brightest we've ever seen.

A Light Walk

Mari, my folks and I went down to Cheekwood to see their walking paths of light and it was really a great show.

Strange Is Good

Just finished Life is Strange, an adventure / mystery game starring an eighteen year old girl who can time travel. If that doesn't sound like my usual cup of tea it isn't, but this game got such good press since coming out I was lured into playing and it turned out pretty good. The story and the voice acting were top notch, mechanics were good. The end was a little weak but not enough to change my opinion.

Better Light Than Never

A little late getting the lights up for various reasons, also we couldn't find last year's so we had to get some more and didn't get enough. Still they look pretty good, and we joined the laser light fad as you can see on side of the house. I should have turned the lights out inside so the Christmas tree would stand out more, oh well.

Merry Popmas

It's officially the Christmas season now.

Compact Parade

For some reason all my pictures turned out terrible, but here's the best two. It turned out to be a very short parade, just 9 boats plus a police boat escort. Still, we had a fun time.

Mom, Dad, Mari and I went to the annual Hendersonville Christmas Boat parade. Here's the lead boat with Santa.

Kicking myself for not thinking to get a picture of the beautiful spread Mari put out, but here's the leftovers waiting to be made into days of sandwiches. We have Lonnie, Ashley and Payton in town to enjoy it with us this year.

Vroom Room

Dad and I went down to the Nashville International Auto Show today and had some fun looking at all the new cars. I was hoping to see a Maserati GranTurismo but this Levante was the only Maserati they had. It was a good show with lots of cars from every brand with the notable exception of Tesla, we almost came home with a Corvette Grand Sport but Dad forgot his checkbook.

Bad Max

Finished Mad Max tonight. It started strong, with great cinematics and solid game play but quickly got very, very repetitive. I'm usually a completionist for all the hidden stuff and side missions but I found myself rushing through the main story just to see what happens and be done with this game.

Demo Days

Bringing down the main building continues.

Band Aid

I wasn't able to figure out who or why, but a marching band was playing all morning across the street from our office. Nice to work to some live music.

Atypical Physician

Checked out Doctor Strange with Mari this afternoon, it was pretty good, amazing special effects.

Preds vs Ducks

And it might have been one of the best games I've ever been to. A high energy 5-0 shut out win with a short handed goal and two fights.

Predatory Family

Mom came out to her first hockey game tonight, the whole Nashville clan to see the Predators.

Flying High

Sometimes this country frustrates the hell out of me, but I never stop loving it and we fly a flag out front all year round to express that. The last one was getting a little ragged so in time for Veterans Day here's the new one.

Pondering The Future

We got to see our favorite local artist Phil Ponder at the Nashville Christmas Village again, and got a few more of his prints to go in the collection.

Trump wins, I guess we get what we deserve but the environment doesn't. I can't even stand to put a picture of him up, so here's a cute puppy instead.

Finally Got A Bentley

This little guy was standing out in the middle of the street when I tried to go to work this morning. No we aren't keeping him, he had tags, his name is Bentley, and his owner came and got him.
