A mere twelve hours later we're done. And really, really tired. To be fair there were lunch and dinner breaks and we started slow due to a learning curve. Well worth it, the backsplash looks amazing!

It took Dad and I a lot longer to get it installed than planned, but the new one is up. The biggest change is how quiet it is, I guess I had just gotten used to the old one rumbling and rattling. You could hear it anywhere in the house and it would shake some of the paintings on the wall that backed the garage. This morning Mari and I drove separate, and I went out to check on why she was just sitting in the garage. Well turned out she'd already left, I just didn't hear the garage door opener at all, and I was sitting at the breakfast table right next to the garage.

Our garage door opener has given up the ghost. After seventeen years I guess we got our money's worth out of it.

Going Rogue

The Mission Impossible movies have never been overly deep, but for me at least they've all been consistently enjoyable and this one was no different. In fact I think the new lineup is even better than before (Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames.)
