Another adventure in disgruntled Public Defender clients, some asshat pulled the fire alarm out in the hall on our floor. Which of course means walking down 20 flights of stairs and waiting around for the fire department to confirm it was indeed an act of asshattery. This is supposed to be a picture of the fire engine that came to check it out, but it was kind of taken on the fly so all I managed to get is a hazy picture of a piece of a fire engine. Enjoy.

Serving Up 2012

I went to a Microsoft training seminar today down in Cool Springs. We went over Server 2012, Azure, and did some Windows 8 training. Really impressed with what 2012 brings to the table, too bad knowing Metro we won't adopt it until I've retired.

Z Phone

I participated in the early release program for the new Blackberry server software so they sent me a free Z10. Not sure what to do with it, but it's kind of cool to be one of the first people to get to play with one.

Mari and I finally got around to seeing Silver Linings Playbook tonight, really enjoyed it.

A Seven Kingdom Army Couldn't Hold Me Back

...from reading these days. Like a lot of readers I go through swings were I don't read, and then some where I devour books. I'm in the latter mode right now, since reading this I've read all three of the Seven Kingdoms trilogy pictured above. It helps to have good books, and all three were very good, with maybe the last one not being quite up to the first two.

The Pen Is Mightier Than That Other Pen That Isn't As Cool

The whole pen thing reminded me of the completely pretentious fountain pen I use at my home desk. My parents got it for me when I graduated from ASU, hence the maroon and gold colors. I've always liked pens. Hey it's not weird! OK, granted if my litmus test is Kristen Stewart maybe it's a little weird.

No September's

A new restaurant opened in the place that September's used to inhabit. It's been empty since they left. It's called called Sopapilla's and it's supposed to be high end Mexican food. The chips and salsa were good, other than that everything was terrible. Poor service, bland food, and really expensive. So disappointing. They were still training the staff and such as we ate so maybe it was a soft opening and they just weren't ready. We're going to wait a month and try it one more time before permanently crossing it off the list.

Repetitive Repast

New Jazz

So speaking of that last game and Jazz. He was always my favorite character, so I have collected every version of him going back to the original cartoon. Well, they released a new version of him reflecting how he looks in said game and....yeah I bought it. Never grow up people, it's boring.

The 80's Called

The sequel to this game. Transformers Fall of Cybertron is based on the old cartoon, not on the Bay movies, and better than all three of those combined. This time you get to play Jazz so, enough said.

No, not another puppy pic. What the game lacked in a fancy title screen it made up for in quality play. If the GTA series and the Batman: Arkham series had a baby, and that baby knew kung fu, this would be that baby. And if you understood that, you would be a gamer.
