Tough Girl 2

Turns out she had ruptured about everything possible in her knee, but it's all rebuilt now and she's already trying to use it which is a good sign according to the vet. The trick is not to let her use it too much. Given how stubborn she is, that's going to make for a fun 14 days. (2 weeks of restricted use, 6 weeks of total rehab.)

Tough Girl

She's home and doing fine!

The Six Million Dollar Dog

So, Missy has been limping for about 5 weeks. We took her in before and they gave her some meds and it seemed to get better, but then got worse. Took her in today, they did a more thorough exam and she has torn her ACL. She will have surgery tomorrow, then 6 weeks of rehab. Mari took the better picture. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

Reluctantly Inseparable

Sure they act like they don't need each other, but somehow always seem to end up in the same place.

Little Over

The kids from Tennessee couldn't overcome the amazing pitching of Japan (their starting pitcher throws 80+ MPH fast balls and is just 12 years old), but it was still fun to watch.

Little Defense

I admit I don't have the stomach to watch sports, I can't stand to sit and watch my teams loose. I prefer to DVR it, find out the score, then watch the game. I know, I'm weird. But for some reason the Little League World Series has been really fun to watch, especially since the underdogs from Tennessee made it to the US Championship game. Of course this game almost made me walk away, it was 15-5 in the final inning, no problem right? Then California scored 10 runs! It was a train wreck. Then, amazingly, Tennessee came back and scored 9 more! Crazy game. Next they face Japan in the World Championship.

Closed Codex

Haven't posted much about my reading habits lately, and that's because I've been tearing through six books in a single series called the Codex Alera by Jim Butcher. Solid fantasy series, though it kind of peters out in the end but still well worth reading.

Rage Quit

Solid FPS ruined by a really bad ending. There's all this build up to a final area, you get there, spend about ten minutes accomplish a few things, then say ok what's nex-and the credits roll. And you literally think it's a joke at first, but nope, that was really the end. No idea what they were thinking, maybe they just ran out of time and had to get the game out the door.

Mystic

Of course there must be balance in all things, so Missy gets some blog time too.

Madison

Nothing exciting or photogenic enough happened this week to make note of, so to prevent an entire week of no pictures I'm going with the old standby. Puppy pics. Here's the Mad sprawled out taking a nap.

Third Rising

Finally went and saw the final movie of Nolan's Batman trilogy. It got really good reviews but for reasons I can really put my finger on, didn't really do it for me. Oh well, was still entertaining.

Marvin Gets Curious

NASA just landed a car sized rover on Mars using a giant parachute and a skycrane with a rocket backpack. If that isn't cool I don't know what is. This is one of the first pictures, but it's just from Curiosity's Hazard Avoidance Cam. Better pictures and full movies to follow once they get everything going.

Another Crysis

Been a while since I played anything but Diablo 3. Enter Crysis 2: Electric Boogaloo. Short but fun.
