Watching the sun set on another press night, most of it spent installing service packs. What fun.

Radio From Space
We canceled XM radio for a while, but ended going back with a combo of them tossing some really good deals at us to return, as well as generally missing the service. Once you've had it, going back to regular radio is hard. I mean where else can you have Grant Random call you a bastard moments before playing the seldom heard Chi track from Korn, with the even more rare Twist intro? Not many places my friends.

Lots Of Yellow Post-Its
Michael Jackson, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Billy Mays all died. Rube must have been pulling his hair out on this one.

So Let It Be Written
Courtesy of Stevan Steinhart, who has worked here for 25 years, the very first Nashville Sc3ne ever published. The 20th Anniversary celebrates its years as an alternative weekly. For several years before that it was a "shopper" as pictured here. Read about the transition from one to the other here.

The Party Sc3ne, 2
The views from the outside balcony were great: From this vantage you could see the river and the Titan's stadium, as well as the Hard Rock across the street.
The Party Sc3ne, 1
The Nashville Sc3ne's 20th Anniversary party was tonight, held at One-Eleven. As per usual Mari and I arrived unfashionably early. Here's the interior space.

Hot Art
Slept in, ate, then wandered around the artsy village across the bridge. Mostly by car since it was approximately 8 trillion degrees out.

Chattanooga Choo Choo
This is the "Victorian Lounge". The bar at the hotel, where we enjoyed 6 Patron margaritas between us and got pretty happy to end the day.
The
Here is room 2007, this is our new room. The air conditioning in this room is so frosty we eventually had to turn it down because we were freezing. Freezing so good.
That
Here is our room, which was cool. Only it wasn't. You see the uninsulated, metal train cars don't do well in the sun when it's 100 degrees outside. It was about 90 in the room. We were both sweating. We called the front desk, the maintenance guy came out and basically told us when it gets this hot, there isn't much they can do about it. Later one of the workers admitted he'd never stay in one, "they're sweat lodges in the summer and ice boxes in the winter." So here's a Chattanooga top tip, if you want to stay in the train cars go when it's mild.
Is
Here we are outside our room. One of the actual train cars from the Chattanooga Choo Choo they have converted into a hotel room. You pay extra for this unique experience.
Me
We decided to do it up right, as knowing how often we travel we probably won't be back. That meant staying at the train itself.
Pardon
After a leisurely morning getting ready and dropping the dogs off at the kennel, we're on our way to Chattanooga.

Get Lost
Delayed post, a new game was started today. Odyssey is right, I've never seen a console game that spans 4 disks.

The Scene
The reverend at a church I drive by almost every day nearby killed a little old lady for spilling paint on his boots. (Editor's note - It wasn't the church I was initially thinking of, it was one in Madison.)

Planning Begins
Starting to plan our first trip to the Big Apple, though it won't actually be happening until December.

Not The Sharks
But still better than the Red Wings. For those you of you uninterested in hockey, the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup tonight.

Fan Fair In Disguise
The CMA Music Festival, formerly known as Fan Fair, descends on downtown Nashville. (Blurry photo 647.)

The Scene
Alan Jackson on the cover, no doubt so visiting Country Music Festival goers will gobble them up, with a Bonnaroo section as well. When hicks and hippies collide.

Mas Transit
The Mas Tacos truck, only it's less blurry in real life. I'd never eaten from them before, and it turned out to be very tasty. An informal vote thought they should start coming every week.
Twenty-Year-Old Tacos
For the Sc3ne's 20th anniversary the mobile Mexican food vendor Mas Tacos was invited to set up in our parking lot, and we were all given a coupon for three tacos and a drink.
